Composer, arranger, and founder of the Irish vocal ensemble Anúna, Michael McGlynn has developed a unique musical language that fuses Celtic traditions with contemporary choral expression, creating works of profound depth and timeless beauty.

Since founding Anúna in 1987, McGlynn has shaped the ensemble’s distinctive, mystical sound—marked by luminous voices, emotional clarity, and poetic intensity.

His compositions are performed worldwide and have been honored with numerous awards.

Our concert will take place in the historic Propsteikirche St. Urbanus in the heart of Buer. With its impressive neo-Gothic architecture, majestic spatial presence, and outstanding acoustics, it offers the ideal setting for an unforgettable musical experience. For many decades, the church has been a vibrant venue for services, concerts, and a wide variety of musical events, making it one of the cultural landmarks of the region. The special atmosphere — the interplay of light, sound, and space — lends every performance a festive yet intimate character. We warmly invite you to experience this unique place with us and let yourself be enchanted by both the music and the setting.

For visitors arriving by car, the Domplatte underground car park (Freiheit, 45894 Gelsenkirchen) is located nearby. From there it is only a short walk to the Propsteikirche St. Urbanus.
